How we got started

Little Sew and Sew is a family run business, based in the UK, that started back in 2014. We did have a shop in St. Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex which unfortunately, we had to close due to the pandemic. We are now an online store only and are excited to continue our buisness and grow. We would like to thank you all for the support over the years, our customers mean a lot to a small business like ours. Do get in contact with us and stay in touch via our social media.

Lorraine Mclaughlin

Founder of Little Sew and Sew

I have always loved sewing and crafts and had talked about owning a sewing shop for years. I finally took the plunge and opened the shop in 2014. We ran workshops and built a lovely community of sewers and crafters of all ages and abilities.

Although the shop has now closed, I have made some good friends from the classes that I ran and we still keep in touch.

I do miss the shop, however, I am still sewing at home and am glad to be able to keep Little Sew and Sew going with our new online store.

Ashley Mclaughlin

Online Store Manager

I have fond memories from my childhood of my mum doing crafts and sewing with me from a young age. She ignited a passion in me that has led me to always seek creative endeavours.

I worked in the film industry for 10 years until recently deciding to retrain in illustration. I have been working alongside my mum since the shop first opened to provide tech support. I am managing the online store, whilst I also study for my degree. I have a special interest in the Environment and Sustainability and am looking at ways to implement these principles into our business. What better way to be sustainable than to make and mend your own clothing and furnishings!

I hope you like our range of fabrics and would love for you to share with us what you create!
